When Ariana started school, we tried moving both of the girls to their own beds at night. Our bed is only so big and it gets so crowded with 2 adults, 3 kids and 3 cats in it! It just wasn’t working for anyone. None of us were getting the sleep we needed and it left the whole house cranky. Only problem, the girls refused to sleep in their own beds. They would rather sleep on the floor in our room than their beds. Personally, I don’t understand this. They have very nice and comfortable beds. I have ended up in their beds several nights, when they kicked me off of my own. I knew this had to stop. I started looking around for options to help us with this problem. Then I came across these adorable reward charts from Victoria Chart Company. The Good Night, Sleep Tight Rewards Chart has been a life saver!
Victoria Chart Company specializes in Award Winning Products for positive development in children. They have several other wonderful charts like; My Big Star Reward Chart (1yr+), My Growing Up Chart (4yrs+), My Credit Chart (7yrs+), My Vacation Journal (4yrs+) and not to mention this awesome Scrummylicious Meal Planner for Mom!!!
Let’s take a look a how awesome the Good Night, Sleep Tight Rewards Chart really is!
- Large chart (11 inches wide by 17 inches high)
- 48 reusable gold star stickers
- 130 reusable smiley face stickers
- Supportive information sheet showing working example, tips and guidelines
- Dry erase marker
- Sticky mounting pads for the wall
Not only does this chart reward children for participating in their bedtime routine but it also rewards them in the morning for staying in their bed all night! I love that!!
Like most children, my girls strive on positive rewards! They were so excited when the chart came in the mail. They will bend over backwards just to get one of those stickers! I went over the chart with them. We discussed what they needed to do, that if they completed each task they would receive a sticker, a “big” reward for filling the chart, etc… They loved that reading a bedtime story was included on it. I personally loved that the chart included so many tasks! It is easy for even the youngest kiddo to understand.
The chart is set up in 2 parts. The top half of the chart handles everything the kids need to do at night. The bottom half of the chart tackles things in the morning, like staying in your bed all night, not calling out, etc…
The chart includes sticky squares to attach easily to your wall. It sticks great and stays up. We chose to put the chart on their bedroom door. We also added an “A” or “L” to each sticker which gave the kids their own set of stickers for the chart. The girls really look forward to putting the stickers on. The first thing they do in the morning is give themselves the stickers that they earned.
This chart has been a life saver in our house. We no longer have a battle during our bedtime routine and the girls are excited about it now. I love that the stickers can be reused. Lily has gotten so much better and stays in her bed all night. Ariana still struggles with it, half of the time she ends up in our room sometime throughout the night. I swear that girl goes through separation anxiety from Daddy.
I have seen a huge improvement in both the girls since we started the chart and I know they will just get better! Each week they fill the chart, we give them a special surprise. Those surprises include a small toy, going out for ice cream, having a camp out in the living room, staying up with us for movie night, etc…
Honestly, I could go on all night about how helpful the Good Night, Sleep Tight chart has been. This is a must have product for any child!!! You have to check them out.
