When I was 14 years old, I rescued a sweet and loving cat. His name was Jack and truth be told, he rescued me. Everything in my life was changing at the time and I had trouble adjusting but he gave me hope and strength. He was ultimately my first baby. I love him dearly. He was full grown when I got him but he was the size of a kitten because the people who had him weren’t feeding him. He had ear mites so bad, he almost lost his hearing. I went in there and I took him without looking back. I got him fixed up at the vet and I gave him a wonderful, loving home. For 11 years, this cat was my best friend. The best cat you would ever come across. He was loving, friendly and happy. He slept on my pillow every night. He would give kisses. He was very vocal and made sure he got his point across. He got what he wanted. If he wanted attention, he would lay on top of whatever you were working on to get it. He was so tolerant of the kids and never hurt them. He was the worlds greatest cat. I am sitting here typing this with tears coming down my face. But I wanted to share with all of you. I want to share and celebrate his time with us and what better way than to tell everyone what a wonderful cat he was.
He wasn’t just a cat though! He was my best friend and a part of my family. He saved me! I am going to miss him so much. Everyday for 11 years he made me smile. Now I will smile everyday remembering him.
